Legacy in the Dominican Republic

We thank God and World Radio for the blessing of witnessing the growth of His Kingdom here in the Dominican Republic. In these almost 48 years of ministry, I’ve seen the birth of 17 congregations thanks to the support of One Kingdom. Among these are:

• Puerto Plata
• Guananico
• Llanos de Perez
• Ranchito Los Vargas
• Imbert, Maimón, Altamira
• Cupeyito de Nagua
• Cupey
• Jaibón
• Palo de Damajagua
• La Caída
• Pueblo Nuevo
• Sabana Grande
• Leonor de Tomas
• Esperanza
• Mao

Our story began in 1976 when Norman Rhodes and others came to the DR. They trusted me to initiate support for this ministry and to expand the Kingdom of God through a radio program. Initially, our radio program, Tu Palabra es Verdad (Your Word is Truth), remained on the air for almost 10 years in Puerto Plata City. As a result of this hard work, nine congregations were established, as mentioned above.

In 1985, the Lord guided us to Mao Valverde, where my wife Nurys and I arrived with our children Bethelys, Naomi, and Abner. Since our arrival 8 more congregations have been established.

The broadcasting stations for Tu Palabra es Verdad have been: La Voz del Atlántico (1976-1985), Radio Mao (1985-2000), and Línea 106 FM (2000 – present).

In these almost 48 years, we have worked diligently to spread the great message of our Lord Jesus Christ, and White’s Ferry Road Church has had a great responsibility in this aspect. Without them, I would not have been able to dedicate myself full-time to the Lord’s work.

Many years have passed, and the church has expanded, with many brothers and sisters remaining steadfast, while others have already departed to meet our God. These congregations continue to grow thanks to God and the multiplying effect of the Gospel.

I thank God for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in directing me and my family. We know He has authored and guided our steps throughout all these years. I also thank God for the great effort One Kingdom has made for the expansion of The Great Commission and for those brothers and sisters who saw potential in me and supported me from the beginning.

This work has been possible alongside other valuable men and women who have also dedicated their lives to the Lord. When my family has faced moments of concern, the brothers and sisters of White’s Ferry Road Church have always been there for us, fervently praying, and that is something that fills my heart with gratitude for the love and support for me and my family.

Today, as I look back on the journey, I thank God for the opportunity to serve Him and co-exist with brothers and sisters like you at White’s Ferry Road and One Kingdom for the life He has allowed me to have, for my children and grandchildren, and especially for my wife Nurys.

Lastly, but not least, we are grateful to every brother and sister who has contributed in any way with their resources, with their time, being able to collaborate to make this project a reality. Blessings to you and your families.

We trust in God that One Kingdom will have many more years to come in strengthening His Kingdom. I pray that these 60 years may be multiplied, just as the Gospel of the Lord has been through all of you.

I’d like to leave you with the following verse:

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. –1 Corinthians 15:58
