Simon Maanda from Jinja, Uganda

My name is Simon Maanda from Jinja, Uganda. I was born into a Christian family, and for many years I thought I was a Christian simply because my parents were. I went to church because everyone at home did. Sunday school and worship were routine—but I didn’t understand why they mattered.
In 2010, I joined Harding Christian Academy for high school (Jinja, Uganda). Like many preachers’ children, I was encouraged to be baptized, but I resisted. I hadn’t yet seen the value of it. My faith was familiar—but not personal.
Everything changed in 2012 during a Bible lesson from John chapter 3. That teaching pierced my heart. For the first time, I understood what it truly meant to be born again. That day, I made my own decision and called my father to tell him I wanted to be baptized.
After my baptism, church was no longer a routine—it had purpose. I began reading the Bible not because I was told to, but because my life needed it. Prayer became a desire, not a rule. My faith became real, and my life was transformed.
Today, I joyfully serve God and help others encounter His love. I minister on a radio gospel talk show sponsored by One Kingdom in Uganda, reaching many souls, leading to baptisms, and helping establish churches across the country. I also serve with Gospel Chariot and Share Mission, preaching, making disciples who make other disciples, and following up with believers across Uganda and East Africa. God is doing mighty things in my life—and I am a living testimony.
Come to Uganda and see what God is doing! I am Simon Maanda and His Story is my story.
