Earthquakes Devastate Venezuela

Today, thousands of families in Venezuela are facing a reality no one should ever endure.

On June 24, two powerful earthquakes struck northern Venezuela just seconds apart, leaving unimaginable devastation in their wake. Entire apartment buildings crumbled. Streets that were once full of life are now piles of concrete, twisted steel, and dust. Rescue workers—and often neighbors with nothing but bare hands—continue digging through rubble, listening for the faintest cries of life. As of today, more than 2,000 people are confirmed dead, over 11,000 are injured, and tens of thousands remain missing or unaccounted for.

The hardest-hit region was La Guaira, a coastal community about 45 minutes from Caracas, where over 100 residential buildings collapsed. The church there is devastated.

As we communicated on a zoom call with leaders there, it was heartbreaking to hear José Bello and Carlos León tell the stories of many members who lost their lives and others injured or still missing. One story has especially broken our hearts. A preacher serving a congregation in La Guaira survived the earthquake itself. But as he searched desperately through the rubble for his missing son—he suffered a heart attack and died during the search.

We must come to their aid physically, emotionally and spiritually. Please partner with us in bringing comfort and hope to those who have lost so much.

Thank you for your generosity to help those who cannot help themselves.
